COVID-19 update as of May 26, 2020: At this time, the Town of Middletown is not selling any seasonal beach parking stickers for either residents or non-residents. The Town Council is still deciding on how to safely reopen the beaches in Middletown because of COVID-19. The Second Beach parking lots remain locked at this time. We will have more information in June – please check the Town’s website under Town News and Updates or follow us on social media.
It is the mission of Middletown Parks and Recreation to provide opportunities for enhancement of the quality of life through the provisions of facilities, programs and services that respond to the needs of all residents of Middletown.

The town council may establish a department of parks and recreation when, in its judgment, the effective provision of these important services and the proper management of recreation facilities in the town require such action. The department shall be headed by a director appointed by the town administrator. All recreation services and facilities, including parks, beaches and playgrounds, shall be placed under the jurisdiction of said department with the exception of those properly within the jurisdiction of the school committee.
